"i Told Him I Would Score", Says Match-winner Sakho

West Ham's 1-0 win over Swansea City lifted them above their opponents to 15th and allowing them to look further up than down in the table.

Diafra Sakho was brought off the bench to deliver the decisive blow with an 89th minute winner, as he promised his manager on the touchline.

“Before I went on, I told him I would score for him, I did so I’m happy,” he said.

“If I could I would keep him at the club for a lot of years and I want to thank him for all the support and help he has given me.”

“It’s a very important moment for all the players to win before the international break.”

Joe Hart had to celebrate from the other end of the pitch but felt the pressure being lifted after the goal.

“It’s all on us to take the pressure off, we don’t get sucked into the speculation, we just stick together and fight hard,” said Hart.

“We have to focus on the win.”

Hart has kept three clean sheets in his last four league games and says it was a hard-fought win.

“The only way we’re going to get more confident is if we pick up wins, we stick together as a team and we keep clean sheets and move forward,” he said.

“We stick together, we train hard and fight for each other and we fought on Saturday.”
