Muir couldn't stop smiling on London Stadium return

Laura Muir continued her impressive 2017, after she qualified for the semi-final in the women’s 1500m, Muir finished fourth in qualifying for the semi’s which will be contested on Saturday night.

“I couldn’t stop smiling at the start line, the crowd, to have that support out there, it only spurred me on at the end” she said.

“the experience of being in Glasgow in 2014 helped, and then the experience in Belgrade helped too, I’ve got lot of Championships under my belt now” Laura has had a magnificent year after two golds in Belgrade in March, and is hoping to use that to her advantage during these Championships.

“I’m really happy at where I’m at. Training has gone really well so I want to get through the rounds and preserve as much energy as possible”

“I wanted to stay out of harm’s way as much as possible and just get through, and I think I did that”

“I’ll no doubt be getting an ice bath later to prepare for later” she said jokingly as she prepares for her next heat. Laura certainly seems confident going forward, and why shouldn’t she be? Laura has previously stated that she wants to be like Jessica Ennis-Hill, and take over as the face of British Athletics, if she can continue to perform at the highest level, there is no reason why she can't be.
