London-based Food Charity Benefits From Unused Match Day Meals

Delaware North, the food and beverage services operator at London Stadium, has made a sizeable donation of food that would have otherwise gone unused from Saturday’s postponed Premier League fixture against Norwich City.

The perishable items from the match-day of the 18th December were made available to London-based distribution charity, The Felix Project, who deliver this food to almost 1000 front-line charities, primary schools and holiday programmes in the capital. The Felix Project believes in a vision of London where no-one goes hungry and good food is never wasted. It states that 1.5 million adults in London struggle to afford to eat every day, 400,000 children are at risk of missing the next meal.

Executive Head Chef Gary Foakes comments: “We are delighted to be able to support this worthwhile London charity that can make use of items that otherwise would have gone to waste. We appreciate how much pressure people are under at this time of year, not only with the pandemic but facing a tough winter and putting food on the table. We hope this will go to the people that need it most and are happy to be providing this for The Felix Project to distribute.”
