London Stadium achieves Friendly WiFi certification

As part of the great facilities provided at the Stadium, our team are passionate about being able to provide a first-class online journey for visitors. Safety is paramount to us at London Stadium and being safe online was a priority for our team responsible for implementing the venue wide public Wi-Fi service.

Our Friendly Wi-Fi certification shows that everyone at the venue will share a safe and comfortable browsing experience – free from exposure to indecent and harmful material. This is of particular importance for our family events and any young fans we welcome to sporting matches. The free Wi-Fi at the venue has proved extremely popular with visitors, with connections regularly more than 35% of the capacity on the network, with up to 40k users at any one time.

Bev Smith, Director at Friendly WiFi added to the news “We have worked with the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for some years now as a Friendly Wi-Fi certified attraction, and with the development of their public Wi-Fi service, are thrilled to now also be working with London Stadium. The team were focussed on providing a great WiFi experience to all visitors but remained dedicated to providing a safe and filtered Wi-Fi journey to protect users, families and children. Being online socially at key events and matches is key and I applaud London Stadium for ensuring that this experience is a good one and free from inappropriate material.”

Graham Gilmore, CEO of London Stadium, said: “The safety and wellbeing of our visitors is paramount to all of us at London Stadium, this includes all users of our fast and free Wi-Fi. This Friendly Wi-Fi certification ensures that every care has been taken to block inappropriate content, giving peace of mind to all who attend our events that the Wi-Fi that they are accessing is filtered and safe. I would like to thank our IT team and Friendly Wi-Fi for carrying out the necessary work and ensuring we maintain the certification for years to come.”
