Day 6 of the IPC World Para Athletic Championships, what can we expect?

By Daniel Mcinally

Day six of the IPC World Para Athletic Championships, will see Team GB try and regain top spot in the medal table, after a disappointingly dry day five under the flood lights at London Stadium.

Despite brave efforts from British Duo Sabrina Fortune and Polly Maton last night, Team GB fell behind China and the USA in the medal table, and will look to get back on track tonight.

Arguably, Team GB’s best hope of winning a gold medal falls on Samantha Kinghorn who is competing in the T53 400m, but will face a stern test from American, Chelsea McClammer. Kinghorn previously won gold at the T53 200m and will hope to add another Gold later today.

Another Brit competing for a medal tonight, see’s Maria Lyle in the T35 100 metres at 8.05pm.

"So pleased to have won the bronze last night. To have only been able to sprint last Wednesday makes things even sweeter" she said, after the race.

The Scot will be hoping to go one better and perhaps win a silver or even gold, after she won a bronze at the T35 200m on Monday.

Both Nathan Maguire and Richard Chissaro will try and look past the disappointment from yesterday’s T54 200meters after both missing out on a medal, by going again at the Men’s 400m T54 heat.

Tatyana McFadden who has been all-conquering so far in London Stadium, will look to make it four medals in six days as she competes in the women’s T54 800m at 8.20pm.
